About Us

Our History & Mission

Serving families with dignity and compassion since 1972

Caribbean Funeral Service History

Our Beginning

Caribbean Funeral Service was established in 1972 to serve the growing Caribbean community in Brooklyn, New York. Founded by Grenadian immigrants who recognized the need for culturally sensitive funeral services, our funeral home has grown to become a trusted institution in the community.

For over five decades, we have provided compassionate care to families during their most difficult times, helping to arrange services that honor their loved ones and respect their cultural traditions.

Our mission has remained consistent throughout our history: to provide dignified funeral services that honor the deceased and support the bereaved with compassion and understanding.

Our Values

Our Values

At Caribbean Funeral Service, our work is guided by a set of core values that influence everything we do:

  • Compassion: We approach every family with genuine care and empathy.
  • Respect: We honor the dignity of the deceased and the cultural traditions of each family.
  • Integrity: We conduct our business with honesty and transparency.
  • Excellence: We strive for the highest standards in all aspects of our service.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: We recognize and honor the diverse traditions of the Caribbean community.
International Services

International Services

One of our specialized services is international shipping to Caribbean countries. We understand the desire of many families to return their loved ones to their homeland for final resting.

Our experienced staff navigates the complex documentation and arrangements required for international transport, coordinating with embassies, airlines, and receiving funeral homes to ensure a smooth process during a difficult time.

We have established relationships with funeral service providers throughout the Caribbean, including Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and other islands, allowing us to provide comprehensive care that spans international borders.

Community Involvement

Community Involvement

Caribbean Funeral Service is more than a business—we're an active part of the Brooklyn community. We support local organizations, participate in community events, and offer educational programs about grief, funeral planning, and cultural traditions.

Our commitment to the community extends beyond providing funeral services. We see ourselves as a resource for families navigating the complexities of loss and remembrance, and we strive to be a positive presence in the neighborhoods we serve.

Through partnerships with local churches, cultural organizations, and support groups, we help strengthen the community bonds that sustain us all during times of loss and celebration.

Our Connection to La Qua Brothers

Caribbean Funeral Service maintains a proud association with La Qua Brothers Funeral Home, one of the most respected funeral service providers in Grenada. This connection allows us to offer seamless arrangements for families wishing to transport their loved ones to Grenada for funeral services and burial.

La Qua Brothers has served Grenada for over 100 years with the same commitment to dignity and excellence that guides our work at Caribbean Funeral Service. Together, we ensure that families on both sides of the ocean receive compassionate, professional care during their time of need.

Our relationship with La Qua Brothers enhances our ability to honor the wishes of those who desire a final return to Grenada, creating a bridge between communities and generations.
